Berry Cream Swirl Smoothie

September 12, 2017 by Libby Bird Leave a Comment

Velvety smooth & creamy, this is a satisfying swirl of a smoothie. While you can never go wrong with a banana berry smoothie, the added swish of cashews add creaminess, protein & a fruity intergalactic effect.I buy cashew pieces at my local bulk food store – they’re cheaper than buying the whole nut. Also I use rice milk, as I like the fact that it’s light & a little sweet.

1 ripe banana

½ cup frozen berries

½ cup milk of choice

½ cup pre-soaked softened cashews

1/3 cup milk of choice

dash of vanilla essence

dash of pure maple syrup

Blend the banana, berries and first measure of milk until smooth. Set aside, then whizz the remaining ingredients until super smooth. Aim for no lumps at all! Layer the pink and cream smoothies together in a glass or jar, and mix gently with a spoon or chopstick to create a swirl pattern.
